Christmas day!

Sorry I haven't had a post in a long time. I have just been super busy with Christmas and Florida. First, I'm going to tell you about Christmas. On Christmas eve we went out to dinner. (I think it was Ruby Tuesdays.) After that we went to our Christmas eve service at Gateway Christian Church. There, Logan started walking long distances without his walker for the first time! My mom declared it was a Christmas miracle! After the wonderful service we went home and opened presents from, and to each other. I received S'mores duct tape, and a magic trick book. Luke received a star wars hat, and a star wars calendar. Lexi received a Cinderella game, and a Sophia the First flipeez hat. My mom received an egg chap stick, a scarf, a new phone case, a bracelet and a sugar scrub. My dad received a beer holder, (I really don't know what they're called ;) and a multi tool. Logan was given a football, a monster flipeez hat and play dough. After we opened family presents we watched Christmas Vacation, a family classic. We set out cookies and milk for Santa Clause, and then headed up to bed. The next morning we all woke up really early and dashed to my mom and dad's room. Traditionally we read the story of baby Jesus. Once we finished talking and reading about the importance of Christmas we took the steps two at a time and sat down in front of our pile of presents. First we opened the presents in our stocking from our parents. Inside the stocking we had things like gum, tic tacs, pencils, little notebooks....etc. At the toe of every stocking was a piece of wrapping paper. The wrapping paper from the stocking matched the design of the wrapping paper from one of the pile of presents. Whichever one matched meant it was their pile.( I hope that makes sense) Each year for Christmas every kid gets three presents. A need, a want, and a surprise. Luke got a drum set, a cool game called Rock Band, and star wars stuff. (earlier in the month he got tickets to see Star Wars seven, that was part of his surprise) Lexi got some dollhouse guys, some clothes and an American Girl Doll. (She got tickets earlier in the month to go see the new Alvin and the Chipmunks, that was part of her surprise) I got a your story machine, you can make your own books with it. I also got 100 amazing paper animal snowflakes, which is exactly what I wanted. I got another cutting book which is really cool too! I also got a note saying I get to go to a cooking class and learn how to bake macaroons! Also and American Girl Doll movie and book. I also got a Wicked t-shirt, Wicked socks, an new water bottle and a Wicked pillow case. ( I got tickets to see Wicked earlier in the month, that was part of my surprise.) After presents we watched home alone, and just pretty much played the rest of the day. I had an awesome Christmas and I hope everyone else did too.  - Lora

It's Christmas time!

Sorry I didn't post anything yesterday. I was at church from 9 to 3. (I had nativity practice after church) Then, we went to a Christmas party. We ate great food, played games, and sang Christmas carols. I can't wait for Christmas! It's going to be so fun! I really want a book called 100 amazing, paper, animal, snowflakes. It's a guide to make snowflakes with animals hidden in them. I really hope I get it! I love the Christmas spirit everyone has, and the thought of my savior, being born as a baby, into a sinful world, in a stable. I like presents, but that's not the true meaning. The true meaning is much more important. I hope you have a great Christmas. God bless you! -Lora.

my day

Today I get to go to my friend's birthday party! It's a sleepover! I'm really excited.
Last night we had our Christmas play. Addie and I were both in it. I had one line in it. The rest was just songs. Addie sang the songs with me. This morning my mom had a yoga class. (Oh no! She is becoming like those moms on T.V.!) My cousin Carlie is coming over for a few hours today. I won't be able to see her very much because I have Nutcracker practice. I am in the real Nutcracker! (like the one you go see at the Fox) I am one of the mice. The practices are boring but the shows are really fun! I think we have twelve shows! Well, I gotta go! Bye! -Lora
this is my crazy friend, Addison.

I get to go to Florida after Christmas!

Hi! Lora is here again! I'm trying to blog every day. (I may not be able to though. It's because I'm going to Florida!) I'm not going to Florida yet though. We are leaving the day after Christmas. I'm super excited! This is the third year we are going to Florida the day after Christmas! Except this year we are flying! In a plane! Two years ago my grandma decided that an experience is better than presents, so she brought my whole (mom's side of the family) to Florida. That year, and the year after, we drove the sixteen hours to Florida, but this year we are flying!!!!!! The whole family is flying(except for my grandma) so the whole time on the plane I get to hang out with my awesome cousins. (Carlie, Beckam, Sophie, Isla, and Mack.) I really like being with Carlie. She is thirteen and really fun to hang out with.

my family

I have a brother named Luke, who is twelve years old. He likes video games (X-box Wii ect.) Legos, watching movies, ect.
I have a little sister named Lexi who is six. She likes barbies, dollhouse, American Girl Dolls, being pretty and Frozen.

this is me!
This is my little brother Logan. He is three years old and super crazy. I love him so much and think he is super cute. He was born with a genetic disorder called down syndrome. He is just like any other kid on the street except he learns everything slower. For instance, he is three and not walking or potty trained. Some of the signs of down syndrome are, a curved pinkie and a bigger space between his big and middle toe. (So he can wear flip flops well!) Having a brother with down syndrome lets me meet a lot of new people and go new places.

I love blogging!

Hi!  It's Lora again on Life From a Kid's Eyes. I think doing my blog is soo cool! I don't want to do my school work, because I want to blog all day! I thought blogging was just for grown ups, but I get to do my own now! It's so easy to start a blog, and it's so fun! By the way, I would like more viewers! and feel free to comment. (I want people to comment!)  Tomorrow I get to go to my awesome friend's birthday party! (My friend is Addison Bogad) She is turning eight. I know it is kind of weird to have a friend who is a lot younger than me (I am ten) but she is really fun to play with. Anyway, sorry this is a really short post, but I have to do school. Bye! -Lora

Why I decided to start blogging.

Hi, I am Lora and I am home schooled. You may think home schooling is all fun and games, but it's really not. I mean, we do get to wake up at about eight, and if we finish school early we can have the rest of the day to play. But, we don't get to stay in our P.J.s all day, and we don't get four hour lunch brakes, and we don't get to take of days whenever we want. But I still love home schooling. The only downsides are, we don't get to hang out with friends, and when were sick we still have to do school. I've always wanted to try public school for just like a week. Any way, two years ago I started a co op called C.C. (stands for classical conversations) It is really fun. The first year I did the school part in the morning (Its called foundations) stayed for lunch and then had an art class in the afternoon. I personally love art so I liked the afternoon better. My 12 year old brother did something different. He took a class called Essentials. It is a writing class. I never really payed attention to what he did. Last year my mom decided to enroll me in essentials too. My first day I felt kind of out of place, because I was the youngest, but with my brother to help me I made it through the day. Also because I had an AWESOME teacher! (Mrs. Hall) each week we had to write a paper on a particular topic. I wrote a decent paper each week. It wasn't hard, but I wouldn't call it fun. The year flew by and pretty soon it was 2015. I enjoyed my summer, even though we were traveling most of it.  When it came time to start again in September I was ready. I wasn't nervous and I actually was pretty excited. My friend's mom was the teacher. (Mrs. Murphy) She was also an AWESOME teacher. I wrote papers as usual each week. At about the eighth week of C.C. we had to write a story. I decided to write a historical fiction story about a girl who lived in the time of Moses parting the Red Sea. (in the Bible) I really liked writing my story, so I made it too long. I couldn't read the whole paper in class, so I had to read it in three parts. It was soon November and my mom made an announcement. she told me that she had signed me up to write a novel in November. (By the website NANOWRIMO) NA stands for national, NO stands for novel, WRI stands for writing, and MO stands for month.
National
Novel
Writing
Month

After I signed up I started writing. I wrote off of the story I had started for essentials. The goal on the website was 50,000 words. within half the month I had only gotten 5,000 words. I was hanging out with my friend and she said she was doing NANOWRIMO too. I asked her how far she had gotten and she said she had only gotten 2,000 words. I told her that we both need to hurry up A LOT to make it to 50,000, and she said that she was only doing 5,000 words. I asked her how to be able to sign up for less words and she showed me. It turned out that I had signed up for the adult version. I decided to only do 10,000 words. It's less then 50,000 but its still a lot. I finished my story on November 31 at eleven o' clock. (I had to finish my story before 11:59 on November 31) I was cutting it close. Soon I will get my novel published. (It's called, Life in Exodus) My mom saw how much I loved writing my novel so she asked me if I wanted to do a blog. I immediately said yes. My mom has a blog and she prints her blog into books sometimes. (I thought printing my blog would be cool too!) Well, anyway, this is my first blog post!  See you later! -Lora
